Good Afternoon Everyone! You may or may not be aware but two weeks from today the 2014 US Open Ultimate Championship will begin at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Minnesota Youth Ultimate, the same volunteer non-profit that runs our state's high school spring league, State Championship, summer league, middle school league, and other great programs earned the bid to host USA Ultimate's premiere event last fall. Since that time we have been preparing for some of the best Ultimate players in the world to descend on the Twin Cities for what promises to be the most competitive single Ultimate tournament of all time! I am writing today because we need your help to pull it off. With two weeks to go we are still in need of several volunteers for several shifts and tasks. Ultimate Frisbee is a self-officiated sport, meaning that during the game, players resolve conflict through conversation. Ultimate Peace is an organization that brings together youth from Palestinian, Arab Israeli, and Israeli Jewish communities to play Ultimate Frisbee and foster teamwork and friendship among youth who would otherwise never meet due to the regional conflict. To raise money for this incredible organization, we are putting on an Ultimate festival called Bid for Peace. On June 28th, at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN, there will be a hat Ultimate tournament followed by two highly competitive showcase Ultimate games. First, Pop, Minnesota's top women's club team, will face off against StarBirdThrust, a combination of the women from the best mixed club teams in Minnesota. Then the MN Wind Chill, Minnesota's professional Ultimate team, will face SubZero, the top men's club team in Minnesota. Following the showcase games, we will all head to Biff's Sports Bar & Grill where a percentage of food and drink purchases will be donated to Ultimate Peace. The league has decided on June 8th to finish the state tournament. And we must play out last pool play game on Saturday the 7th. It is imperative that you comment Yes if you are planning on attending on Sunday and No if you cannot commit. We will talk about attendance for the last pool play game the day before AFTER we determine if we can field a team on Sunday the 8th. Please reply ASAP as we need to commit as a team tomorrow afternoon.

The dates they have selected are as follows: June 7,8 14,15 21,22 Note that the league will only choose one of these days for a one day event. Please comment with the days that you can make.
