Game Schedule Updated

Our game schedule has been updated for the next two weeks. I believe there is still one other week that just hasn't been scheduled yet. We have two great challenges coming our way. First we have Minneapolis South B at home this coming Thursday. We also have Prior Lake away the following Thursday. Both look to be very tough opponents based on our like opponents. Better time then ever to put something together.

Orono Game

Tough night for the Wabbits at Orono last Thursday. We struggled to put together very many really good all around points and walked out defeated 5-15. We'll all live to fight another day. Hopefully we have learned a thing or two about where we are at this point. We still have a lot of work to do. With that said we've made great strides from where we started at the beginning of the year. It's awesome to see how much we know. Let's keep our heads up and work hard to get a good finish to the season.

Game tonight @ Orono

We will be playing Orono A @ Orono tonight. The game will go on again @ 6 PM. Be prepared for rain tonight as the forcast calls for. This should be a great game, really looking forward to seeing what we can do against a pretty good team in Orono. Below is a link to the map of their fields:

Granite City Success

The Wabbits went on the road to St. Cloud for a two day tourney over the weekend. Saturday we played and won three games vs Cathedral B, Irondale, and Hopkins B. Sunday we played the remaining two teams in our pool and ended up with two more wins vs Central B, and Mounds View B. Finally we finished the day in the Championship Face-Off Game vs Irondale. It was a scary wind blowing straight across the field. We were a little slow out of the gates giving up four early points and being behind at half 6-7. After half we stuck with them trading goals until we pulled ahead by scoring a huge upwind point to take the score to 9-8 at which point the soft cap was applied. Our game would end at 11. We proceeded to score again to go up 10-8 we then had the wind in our face for game point and were unable to fight off the wind to score Irondale scored making the score 10-9. The wind was now in our favor and we were primed to score after several deep attempts we were unable to hold off the Irondale charge and they tied it up @ 10-10. Universe point was an upwinder for us we began to march up the field and the wind moved the disc all over the field until Irondale hucked it deep only to have a great layout catch made in the endzone for the win.

It was a great tournament and we made a ton of progress. We seem to be doing a much better job of knowing what to do when as well as communicating with each other on and off the field. It's pretty cool to sit back as the coach and see players helping each other to be successful on the field. It was a ton of fun and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.
